Isabel (Raisbeck) Brown went to College of Charleston for both her undergraduate and graduate degrees. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology, as well as Secondary Education with a concentration in social studies. She has a Master of Education in Teaching, Learning, and Advocacy with a concentration on diverse learners and an additional certification in teaching English as a second language for K-12 students. She taught high school social studies and coached cross country and track for six years. She then founded Brown Crayon Advocacy, LLC which is an organization that works to bring awareness to educational issues. Her next publishing goals are her Masters research on Controversial Topics in Schools, as well as her memoir of short stories and poems. She claims that her greatest accomplishments are her husband and son. Throughout her life, Isabel's mother has inspired her to be an advocate.
