Her musical background is from her mother playing jazz and R&B music through the early dawn. Shaheeda learned how to load and shoot a gun at 8 years old while selling girl scout cookies to dope fiends.

Shaheeda Shabazz was born and raised in Brooklyn, who discovered that putting pen to paper opened the world to book writing. The dual Gemini with the outstanding wit and the push from her big brother to write this book letting the world know how growing up in Brooklyn was. Learning from her childhood drama she became a motivational speaker to help young women in crisis. Shaheeda became a mother of three and a force to be reckoned with, never losing her Brooklyn roots or being afraid to represent where she was raised.
