In a German concentration camp, nine-year-old David Walberg witnessed the brutal torture of his father by a sadistic, evil prison guard who then went on to savagely and slowly, methodically rape and murder his mother. Thirty-eight years later, David, now a prominent psychiatrist, inexplicably ran into the murderer whom he thought was dead. How could this be? All the buried anger, rage and hate surfaced. At once, he knew what he must do-take matters into his own hands and make sure that justice prevailed. David intended to kill him. But can he actually go through with it? The inner warfare has begun.

Guido Colamarino is a former forensic social worker who worked with the Legal Aid Society in New York City. He is an MSW with over thirty years experience working as a psychotherapist. In addition, he has counseled inmates in the Brooklyn and New Jersey prison systems. Guido and his wife, Patricia, live in central New Jersey with their yellow Lab, Harriet.

Engaging quick read.

Engaging quick read. The Psychiatrist illustrates that even in the face of absolute evil there are no absolutes. By tapping into his background in psychology & social work, Guido does a good job of avoiding cliches and typecasting characters. This story would make for a good play and/or movie.

the psychiatrist a battle between good and evil

Enjoyed the book. It gave me food for thought. How would I react if I were in a similar situation ? A good, quick read.
