Palette Poetry is a collection of 30 poems categorized under Warm, Cool, and Neutral Tones. In an effort to grasp and grow through the various lessons of the human experience, this work uses color paired with poetry to encapsulate the rich hues of life. The poems include reflections on societal and personal traumas, realizations born from mistakes and triumphs, and resolutions hemmed from hope and healing. This book serves to be a painter's palette of poems with each title having been inspired by an actual color's name. Palette Poetry explores what it means to be human and how to find color in every moment!

Alexis Taylor is a multi-media artist, performer, teacher, and purveyor that the arts allow for healing, understanding, and change. A lover of everything artistic since childhood, Taylor received her BFA in Musical Theatre in 2014 after falling in love with Theatre in middle school. She has since explored other avenues of her creative nature and in 2018, she began to write poetry seriously. Taylor performed selected pieces in her 2019 art event heART of the Matter, which is now a non-profit, and became passionate about Spoken Word. Since then, she has written and performed poems for Long Wharf Theatre, the Pink Lid Conference, and a series of other venues. Inspired by the sample color card swatches in the home improvement paint department, Taylor began to write poems based on the cards color and name. She likens her collection of colorful poems to that of a painter's palette! Alexis is thrilled to have published her first work of poetry and looks forward to continuing to color the world with her voice.
