This book is both a description of my journey from Zimbabwe to Canada and a partial story of my life before and after emigrating to Canada in

1990. The journey began with a dream that my wife Barbara Sithabile Simela and I had in the late 1980s when we lived in Zimbabwe. Our dream and hopes were to find a place where we could raise our children in peace and tranquility where they could nurture and nourish their own dreams to their full God-given potential. Early chapters of the book present a heart wrenching decision that I made to abandon a position which I held so dearly with the National Museums and Monuments of Zimbabwe as Acting Regional Director for the western region. It then chronicles the steps we took to apply for permanent residence in Canada.

The author is a resident of Ontario, Canada who is originally from Zimbabwe. He received his primary and secondary education in Zimbabwe, and his post-secondary education in the United States of America including a Ph.D. degree in Geography from Kent State University in Ohio. He is a passionate believer in social justice for everyone. He loves travelling and following political developments around the world. His hope is that readers of this book will take a serious look at Zimbabwe and help the people of Zimbabwe with bringing about some necessary reforms that can promote good governance and the resuscitation of the country's economy.
