This poetry book is to show everyone it’s possible to heal and everyone has the capability to heal and to recover. Recovery and hope are real and possible and you can get to both of these places. It’s a journey. They are real landmarks, destinations and places and you can get there. Everyone can get there. You just have to reach out to someone and they can be there or get to you and help you in any way they can. This book is also about helping yourself in a way by believing in yourself and by believing in your recovery.

Niamoni “Nia” Burrell is 24 years old, lost her mother when she was only 1 1/2 years old, and has been raised by her grandmother. She is on the autism spectrum and was a victim of early traumatization from childhood bullying. When she learned that hope was real, she was able to reconnect with her internal strength and inner peace, she became resilient. She is celebrating freedom from selfinjurious behavior since December of 2021.

As Niamoni is navigating her journey to connecting with the most authentic, incredible version of herself, she hopes to help and inspire others to connect with their greatness. When Niamoni came into knowing that mental health doesn’t have to be overpowering, she wanted to share that with others so that they too can break the cycle of hopelessness. And so the journey continues…
