Half Baker Acted picks up where Gator Bait left off, Langden has just been married to her college sweetheart, Stan Gurley. She embarks on a new adventure, law school, as well as experiences the trials and tribulations of a short term marriage. When she starts experiencing mental health symptoms, no one is really sure how to act, so she is turned over to the Florida mental health system, for better or worse. She has to somehow manage to pick up the pieces of a life that was shattered by the mental illness she experiences in her late twenties. She does get to experience life in Florida’s capital city, Tallahassee, which is a bright spot in an otherwise dark morasse of mental chaos.

Langden Chlebek has been on the inside of Florida’s mental health system and come out of it with stories central to shaping her personality. She didn’t mean to make everyone in her life either alienated or overcome with concern, it just happened when her short term marriage ended abruptly. This story she has written details her initial upward trajectory followed by a downturn that possibly no one could have predicted. Follow her as she tries to survive on the inside of Florida’s Baker Act facilities.
